Scott Milliren – President

Scott Milliren has over 22 years of operations and leadership experience. After graduating from West Point, Scott served six years in the US Army as a Field Artillery Officer. Scott is a veteran of the first Gulf War and has a Bronze Star for actions in combat. His military achievements include Airborne, Air Assault, and Ranger qualifications. In 1991, Scott entered the oil and gas business by joining Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Co. based in Tulsa, OK (NYSE: HP). During his 14 year career with H&P, Scott held positions as a rig crewman, operations and project manager, and vice president in international marketing and operations support.

In mid-2005, Scott joined Southwestern Energy Company (NYSE: SWN) to build and lead their wholly owned drilling company subsidiary, DeSoto Drilling, Inc. The subsidiary consists of 15 drilling rigs and over 300 people with assets in excess of $150 million, primarily focused on the development of the Fayetteville Shale in central Arkansas. The successful start-up venture led to entrepreneurial opportunities with M.D. Cowan, Inc. Scott Milliren is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point (1985), and holds an MBA from Pepperdine University. Scott is married and has two children.
